Brown Coffee
This cafe is a chain but it’s still very nice and worth a visit. I went to the one beside Wat Botum Park. I had taken the night bus from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh and could not check into the hotel so I stopped at this café for a desperately needed cup of coffee after spending a restless night on a bus. I sat down near a window with a view of the park and observed people jogging, walking their dogs, and enjoying the coolness of the early morning before the heat of the day settled in. I ordered a caramel latte and a pumpkin muffin. The latte was good but the muffin was truly delicious. I would highly recommend stopping by this café and trying any of their baked goods. Sorry, I didn’t get any photos of this one!
Cafe Amazon
I had already been to the National Museum of Cambodia and Wat Phnom temple. I was looking for somewhere to sit and enjoy a cup of tea so I decided to try Cafe Amazon Riverside, which is located near the Royal Palace. I ordered a green tea and had the options of getting it hot, iced, or blended. I chose blended and then they asked me if I wanted regular sweetness or less sweet. I chose less sweet and then they asked what percentage! Having never been asked so specifically how much sugar I wanted I want she what to say but I said 10%and it was perfect, in my opinion. Inside it was cool comfortable and there was a small room for people who needed a quiet place to work. I would definitely recommend stopping here for a break from the millions of tuktuk drivers trying to take you to see the killing fields.
Viva Star Coffee
This is a cozy little Cafe located near the Russian Market. They offer a variety of teas, coffees, sodas, and… Cocktails! I got the milk foam peach tea which is iced, tastes like peaches and cream, and is absolutely delicious! It’s the perfect place to cool off after some shopping in the market.
BrewHouse
This one was probably my favorite because of the quirky decor and cozy atmosphere. The Brew House is right on the corner of a busy street but is slightly hidden by some trees and vines surrounding the Cafe. In addition to offering a variety of hot and cold teas, coffees, and other drinks, this cafe also has a full food menu, not just a bakery. The upstairs features a work center where you can print, scan, and make copies as well as some fun 3D art on the walls.
The 240
You’ll love this adorable little Cafe which offers a healthy menu of fresh salads, pastas, and more. They also offer a variety of fresh juices, tea, and coffee. I ordered the roasted pumpkin and goat cheese salad with passion fruit juice and tea. It was one of the best salads I’ve ever had. You definitely want to stop by here for breakfast or lunch.
D’s books
Okay, so I know that this isn’t a cafe but there is a cafe in the back. Anyway, I just had to include this cute, cozy little bookstore in my post because I just loved it! I could have spent hours browsing through the shelves, packed with books from floor to ceiling and overflowing into piles on the floor; they had a huge variety of genres and languages for such a small shop. There were comfy places to sit and enjoy your book with a cup of tea or coffee. I would definitely recommend stopping by for a bit to relax and unwind after a busy day of sightseeing.
